Origin of the place name
[edit]Swartruggens, formerly known as Zwartruggens, is a Dutch name for 'black ridges'. Afrikaans (a daughter language of Dutch) was not freely used in 1875. Aliwal2012 (talk) 09:29, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
