Discussion re: Infobox field: mgender[edit]

I've only recently heard of the mixed events at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo; given that, it seems appropriate to add the |mgender field to the sport infobox.

However, it's not clear to me what to content to add, and given the discussion on the sport template talk page I'm not alone.

Hoping to get contributions to the above discussion.

Suggest that the first sentance, "Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water." be modified to this:

Competitive swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. Positivejls (talk) 20:19, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The inherent definition of swimming as provided does not change between competetive and non-competetive settings. I Am Chaos (talk) 23:31, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The officials section is out of date. There are other changes that need to be made beyond those I outlined. The new rules can be found at https://resources.fina.org/fina/document/2023/01/04/65961a45-bde5-4217-b666-ca1f5dc2d1f0/1_Swimming-Technical-Rules.04.01.2023.pdf

Some specific changes:

The Clerk or Course changed to Call Room Supervisor and it seems some duties changed: The Call Room Supervisor assembles swimmers prior to each event. The supervisor is also responsible for enforcing rules of the swim meet if a swimmer chooses to not show up ("No show" - NS) to their events or any violations regarding swimwear and advertising.

Video Review Supervisor and Judge added: Video Review Judges ensure that the rules related to the style of swimming designated for the event are being observed, and observe turns and finishes. Any violations are reported to the Video Review Supervisor.

The Video Review Supervisor reviews and confirms infractions reported by the Video Review Judges or as requested by the referee. Any violations confirmed in the video review are reported to the Referee. Demishtoid (talk) 21:57, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Actualcpscm (talk) 16:00, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
