Dance

[edit]

I understand Swing was also a dance form -- who were the main people involved in this? Were people like Fred Astaire part of that? -- TimNelson (talk) 04:40, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note: this was listed at Wikipedia:Requested moves for 10 days, after which someone moved it to "uncontroversial moves". It was then "marked for discussion" and relisted again. WP:SILENCE anyone? Jafeluv (talk) 05:56, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Which also states that silence is the weakest form of consensus, not a rousing endorsement. In cases like this, I'd suggest using the db-move template on the target page and performing the move yourself. Dekimasuよ! 00:43, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestion! I've tagged swing era for db-move. I agree that silence doesn't really mean that much, but if a page is listed at Wikipedia:Requested moves for 10 days and no one still objects, I still think it deserves moving. By the way, I don't think the rousing endorsement here is the silence but rather my sources above :) Jafeluv (talk) 07:46, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Swing era and Swing Music articles

[edit]

The history of the swing era is discussed extensively in the Swing Music article. This article contains a more detailed discussion of swing music rather than the historical development of the music that made the Swing Era. It seems that the titles of the two articles need to be reversed.
