Cooking portions

[edit]

Every take and bake pizza I've ever purchased has not been divisible prior to cooking; it's been completely raw and packaged such that it should be popped right into the oven whole upon getting it home. The advantage to the customer is that they get the pizza hot and fresh from their own oven, without it cooling on the way home, and that they get more for their money since the pizza place has lower overhead. There's no way that I know of to cook only part of the pizza. --Robotech_Master 06:21, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Take and bake pizza is a joke. The prices are not far below what you'd get at a sit-down pizza restaurant -- but you still have to take the pizza home and cook it yourself. It's a rip-off. -- Globe199 23:47, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This photograph has nothing to do with take-and-bake. A photograph of uncooked pizzas for sale would be relevant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.89.3.254 (talk) 05:14, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Invention of Take and Bake

[edit]

The link for the citation of who 'invented' this leads to a sign-in page -- you need to be a member to read the article. Is this a valid reference? I am really curious to find proof that such a simple concept as this was invented in 1979, and that it was invented by only one company. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.95.236.217 (talk) 23:06, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A search for the inventor's name on Google makes it seem highly unlikely that he is the inventor. I will simply remove all reference to the invention, leaving it as an open question to discuss here. Shalom (HelloPeace) 18:26, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

American only?

[edit]

As a citizen of Australia born in the UK I've never heard of this term or seen any such business in operation. Some pre prepared raw pizzas are available in some supermarkets for home cooking, but I suggest the opening paragraph includes "in the USA". --MichaelGG (talk) 09:25, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
