History of street railways in Tampa

[edit]

Per the article "Tampa's Streetcar System", which I added as an external link in the article, the Tampa Street Railway existed for only a few years under that name, before becoming part of the Tampa Electric Company, which operated the streetcars in Tampa for 47 years. There does not seem to be an article in Wikipedia that covers that period. Unfortunately, the linked article does not itself cite any sources. This topic deserves some research and then restructuring of this article and the Tampa Electric Company article. I may or may not pursue this when I find time, if no one else does so. --Donald Albury 13:09, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I redirected this article to a section about earlier streetcar companies in the TECO Line Streetcar System. This company was one of several that became part of the Tampa Electric Company streetcar system. The available sources that I have found for streetcars in Tampa between 1885 and 1949 did not support a standalone article. --Donald Albury 03:04, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
