It premiered in Germany and it's in theatres in Germany now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.197.122.182 (talk) 22:40, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Tarzan (2013 film). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Non-avian dinosaurs

[edit]

My clarifying edit correcting the inaccurate mention of the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event causing the extinction of the dinosaurs, which added the encyclopedic descriptor "non-avian", is taken from the linked article itself. The edit was reverted as "adding nothing". What it adds is that instead of giving readers the inaccurate information that the event caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, it implies the accurate data that some dinosaurs survived. A little birdy told me so. Randy Kryn (talk) 20:00, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The edit summary I left was "Pedantic, adds nothing to understanding" and I stand by that. Common culture and normal understanding is reflected in the idiomatic phrase "extinction of the dinosaurs". Anything beyond that is well-outside what is needed for this article and really is a pedantic detail. It is not the purpose in a setup statement for the plot to add details that are basically irrelevant to the setup. Anyone interested can read the linked article, few will or even care as it really doesn't matter much to this story, the point of which it is the search for the meteor that caused it. If really wanted to be precise and lead to even lower levels of reader understanding just say "Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event" and forget the piped common English version of the phrase. What is there now serves the interest of this article best. Geraldo Perez (talk) 21:04, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I can see your good faith point, that "Common culture and normal understanding is reflected in the idiomatic phrase 'extinction of the dinosaurs'". But even if it's wrong? This is an encyclopedia, and maybe Wikipedia should get it right even if common culture and "normal" (?) understanding would prevail in a film review or a book report. Please add 'non-avian' to the descriptor, as encyclopedic language. "The dinosaurs" did not become extinct, even if some people still incorrectly think they did. Let those who care click the link, I removed the link display text and just left the link to the article. See if that sticks with other editors. Geraldo Perez (talk) 04:06, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Didn't have to remove the dinosaur descriptor though, just add "non-avian" to it. This is not just one editor's opinion, it's Wikipedia site-wide consistency. Randy Kryn (talk) 04:10, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
