This page would greatly benefit from a diagram. I'd also like to add something on the real-world observation of this effect, if indeed there is one. I'm aware that taylor-proudman type motion is largely responsible for the pattern of thermal winds in an atmosphere, but don't have the knowledge to explain this coherently. 15:53, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

I added a section on the Taylor Column, which is a pseudo-real world effect in that it is experimentally verifiable, however its a large leap between it and wind patterns. (Seth (talk) 17:20, 2 January 2010 (UTC))[reply]
