I redid it and deleted the words "remarkable" and "much sought after", which may have been the problem.

I'll be adding more soon. I've done research. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.135.111.64 (talk) 16:30, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed 2008 tag here. The question of possible copyright violation has become moot, as the questionable content has since been either removed or reworked. Hertz1888 (talk) 19:36, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Should any of this be plagiarized,

Let it go; In the case of the hoyts, no author would feel their coverage is more important than spreading the knowledge about these two men. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.119.160.135 (talk) 05:19, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately even if the article content isn't plagiarised, it still reads inappropriately for an encyclopedia. Someone with suitable sources (or access to the ones listed in the article, if they're verifiable) should probably run a comb over everything after the lead. 60.241.179.28 (talk) 03:51, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Needs serious work

[edit]

This article is a mess. I don't know if it is a copyright violation, but that's almost beside the point. The content is full on POV statements and reads more like a gushing biography than like any kind of encyclopedic article. I did a little cleanup of the opening section but it needs a lot more. --Crunch (talk) 17:10, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did more cleanup later today. --Crunch (talk) 01:50, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe it was originally written or intended as encyclopedic. It appeared one day full-blown, as if copied from a periodical or book, which would account for the tone. By the time you get through transforming it—which seems to be proceeding nicely—the suspected copy vio. notices will probably be entirely moot, and it should be okay to remove them. Hertz1888 (talk) 02:07, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just removed it all. While I wouldn't mind you restoring it, clean it up before restoring it. It doesn't meet Wikipedia's standards at all. Griffinofwales (talk) 20:27, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Misses the Point!

[edit]

This entry is very bland and does not express the real point and focus of why Rick and Dick Hoyt are so popular. They are most known for being so dedicated to each other. And also, why isn't the part about Rick saving Dick's life in here? THUMBS DOWN TO THIS ENTRY. COULD BE MORE ORGANIZED AND HAVE WAY MORE INFO. :(( — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.48.55.87 (talk) 19:55, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
