Station Name
[edit]| National Rail list the official name as having a hyphen in it. This is an incorrect spelling of Teesside, but the official name of the station. The new signing boards at the station lack the hyphen, but this is just a mistake by Northern Rail. The official name has never changed. Unless anyone can cite an official change of the name, not just a mistake by Northern Rail then I will revert the article name back to Tees-side Airport. - The new signs say "Teesside", National Rail Enquires say the name is still "Tees-side" whilst the address listed there says "Teesside". Despite Northern Rail's new signs, here, here and here on their website still refers to "Tees-side" whilst elsewhere on the same site we have "Teesside". I'd therefore conclude that is isn't completely definite what the correct name is. All of this and the airport isn't even called "Teesside" any more. I'd ask that this is discussed however before it is renamed again. Adambro (talk) 11:34, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input Adambro. I'll investigate further by dropping Northern and National Rail an email to see if we can get to the bottom of this. Andrew Duffell (talk) 11:47, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Have you dropped northen rail an email. Any luck?!? We need some pictures facing the airport. Buzza69 (talk) 13:22, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but they never replied. (It doesn't surprise me, Northern Rail don't do much right.) Andrew Duffell (talk) 22:17, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Correct, some of the oldest, shabbiest, dirtiest trains serve this line. Same as the busses in Redcar + Cleveland and Middlesbrough.Buzza69 (talk) 09:58, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Excellent page
[edit]Can I just say - this is an excellent account of the state of the Teesside (or Tees-side) Airport railway station. The airport itself is already taking a fee from everyone who travels - but they can't negotiate with the rail companies or local authorities to improve communication for passengers. Well done to all contributors! Francis Hannaway (talk) 14:49, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
