I think this article could do with some more precise references for its information. See also my comments on the Scythianus article.

Isaiah reference a mistake[edit]

I removed this reference from the article, as I think it is based on a misunderstanding:

Isaiah in the Septuagint (ISAIAH xlv. 16, 17. (Sept.)) also wrote
extensively on Scythianus and his disciple [1].

The extensive quote about Scythianus, which also forms the basis for the article Terebinthus, comes in fact from Saint Cyril of Jerusalem's Sixth Catechetical Lecture, which is where the Catholic Encyclopedia link leads at the end of the footnote.

As it happens, that lecture is headed with a short quote from Isaiah (45:16-17), as follows

 ISAIAH xlv. 16, 17. (Sept.)
Sanctify yourselves unto Me, O islands. Israel is saved by the Lord with an
everlasting salvation; they shall not be ashamed, neither shall they be
 confounded for ever, &c.

However this is just an encouraging biblical quote being used to preface Cyril's lecture. The rest of that page on the Catholic Encyclopedia contains Cyril's words, including the story of Terebinthus.
