Sloog Alien Food

I really want to know what's in sloog. Any ideas?

My intial guess was the powder might be some kind of salt to create an acidic solution so that the fluid acts as a crude chemical battery to help power the lights in the alien. It may also be a solvent to help the body dissolve or "grow" or possibly a bit of both processes. Smells like acetone, a smell you might be more likely to recognise from nail varnish remover (or you might simply recognise the chemical). I am not a chemist. Personally, I've been helping my little brother with his for almost a week now, and we've used less then one packet of sloog. We mixed the first packet and put it in up to the alien's antennae, and as it grew we just put in more tap water. It's now fully grown, with the tube almost totally full of tap water, and seems to be doing fine, especially considering that there are two unopened packets of sloog right next to it.

The Sloog is slightly acidic, to slow down the growth of the alien, and also contains an anti bacterial to stop the liquid going yucky over time. It also increases the conductivity, to ensure the fluid sensing is reliable, and thickens up the liquid a bit so the alien will move with the tube when you're trying to make him face the screen for the web interaction. But its main purpose is to add some extra fun and interaction for the child when hatching the alien.
