deletion july 2007

[edit]

I object to the proposed deletion of this article on grounds of non-notability. I agree the article has a long of room to go in terms of improvement – e.g., citing its sources and providing statistics of its userbase. However, from the logs it appears that many improvements have been made within the past week alone, and we should allow these editors more time to further polish the article. No rash action is necessary. Konekoniku 16:04, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that hangame tetris (the korean multiplayer tetris) was originally based on tetrinet, complete with well width of 12 and many items, i'd say that Tetrinet is pretty notable. :) 99.99.70.93 (talk) 17:00, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

rework july 2007

[edit]

I've reworked the gameplay section a bit to try and make things a bit more coherent. It could do with being expanded a bit though, and I think the list of links towards the end needs to be trimmed (maybe write something about the programs that are currently just linked to). --James 14:45, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AOL

[edit]

I remember playing this back in the 90s. It was really popular, there were channels in AOL and IRC for players to connect to each other. --Voidvector 04:36, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, that's how it was for the first few years. Then server software got a lot better allowing for the multi-channel servers so most people just went directly to the server then found the game they wanted, as opposed to using chat rooms or forums to find servers. Then people ended up just sticking around on their home server for the most part... used to you'd play on several servers every day pretty much. Personally I remember the IRC days being a lot more social, and in some ways, more competitive. --W.marsh 16:38, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the TetriNET 2 site died? Or someone forgot to pay the bills. The main server can't be reached from the client either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.68.249 (talk) 09:29, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tetrinet 2.0

[edit]

Can anyone get in contact with the developer? I really miss tetrinet 2 and if at all possible I would be willing to start a donation fund so the servers and website could go back online. 2.0 was the best tetris-like game i've ever played, and the fact that there was a centralized server with accounts, better graphics than the first, and more features makes me miss it so much...I wonder if st0rmcat is still around and would consider bringing tnet 2 back. ~ surge —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.186.163.107 (talk) 02:28, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References and notability

[edit]

Not a single reference listed in the reference section appears to be to a reliable source, which means nothing is sourced and thus no notability can be established. If someone has references please provide them, otherwise I'll put it up for deletion. Checking the previous afd, I see a lot of people claiming notability (on numerous grounds that don't satisfy notability) and only one person providing info on an article (but no link) about the game. A single article can't satisfy notability.--Crossmr (talk) 00:05, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Which article do you mean? Maybe there's some way to check it. And then if we find another one, no need for AfD. --Allefant (talk) 15:39, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
