[edit]The Classic Crime, according to all music guide has peaked at #12 for Top Heatseekers chart and # 16 for Top Christian Albums.
Being the top 12 and 16 albums certainly seems like a hit in the United States.
I hope I'm not misjudging the rules hear...
Does ANYONE know about there being an alternate version to the song "the bitter uprising"?
In the version I used to have the following was replaced with other lyrics:
"We'll tear down the walls and let them know We could have it all, we could have some hope This city could be ours by nightfall"
I remember "we rode... we rode hard" or something that sounded like that... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.227.138.181 (talk) 10:12, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Cleanup?
[edit]I personally think the article needs to cleaned up a bit. The way it's written, it seems more like a magazine article than an encylopedia article. --Joseph M White 07:33, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Christian tag.
[edit]I removed the "Christian" tag from the article, since Matt stated in their last.fm page that they're NOT a christian band.

It is actually very common for bands who are considered Christian to try to distance themselves from that label. But The Classic Crime is played on Christian radio and sold in Christian stores and plays at Christian festivals, so to me, that would make them a "Christian band", as far as the market they are in.
Lizz7372 01:11, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
No Its True They are not A christian Band In a interview The Guiterest said The band is not christian Rock because they Also wanted to be big in the seculer rock area, and Also there are some people in there band how are Not christian so ever since then lots of christian stoires dont sell them and non christtian stoires do. Skateremorocker
ya i have to agree with skaterkid. The Classic Crime Tours with mostly Non christian bands. And i ask a my paster who's really into music what he thinks about The Classic crime and he said there not a christian band. and there songs like The Poem, and The Fight talk about killing. Like a one part of there song in the The Fight Matt Screams there Will Be BLOOD IN THE STREETS!!! that would be fighting to like a 7 or 8 year old.
It does not matter what genre the band says they are, that bears no relevance, it matters what sources say they are.Hoponpop69 01:22, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
@Hoponpop69 So because a band talks about death and killing they are automatically not Christian? It drives me crazy when people try to sanitize life and Christianity by refusing to talk about their absences (i.e. death and evil). Also, The Fight tends to have a war-themed mentality to the song...which entails death and killing. Are you sure that a Christian life is not about war at all (look at Ephesians 6 and Revelation). 65.190.127.52 (talk) 00:43, 14 July 2008 (UTC)bbbco
Skateremorocker this in no way qualifies as a consensus that they are not Christian rock
[edit]You said to me that there was a consensus, but the above section shows that this is not the cause. Before you continue to delete cited information please post here. Hoponpop69 02:24, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Ok first of all you didnt have to put my name on here, and also this is not the page that we uesd to put information on but The Classic crime not being a christian band. We uesd our on page like you did for Anberlin to disusce there Genre.Iam not sure if the page is still up or not but myself and four other people have gone over this thank you.
Okay, well I'd like to re-open that discussion, I'll set one up. By the way the reason I just edited the article was because I checked the talk page to see if you had responded to me, but because you didn't sign you post, I thought I was the only person ahving this conversion. I just released you responded afterwards. Hoponpop69 18:34, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
I now have reason to believe that you lied about having this article mediated by an administrator, since it got rejected when I asked them to mediate it the other day.Hoponpop69 21:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- First of all, I am disgusted by the poor English on display here. They = they, the people (as in "They went to the punk rock show"), There (as in"There are lots of things to do..."), Their (as in "This is their first album"). Please brush up on your English. Secondly, arguing over what genre a band is or is not is the most pathetic waste of time imaginable. It does not matter what the band say they are or are not. Likewise it does not matter what you say they are or are not. The only thing that matters is what you can prove the band to be. Find reliable sources for all genres listed or they will be deleted. Oh, and an article that says "Christian musicians...blah blah blah" as the title does not explicitly label The Classic Crime as Christian rock. You need another source that specifically describes this band as one genre or another (or a combination of many). Please refrain from making any further edits to the genres unless it is to add references. As a final point, will the two of you please grow up. Your arguing is pathetic. Great Song, Great Band!
[edit]I still believe in some kind of feeling that will make everything I think I know,
And that door is open, my heart feels like it's golden, if your with me I still hear you,
Woa oh oh I'm gaining Hope there a beat in my heart that just goes and goes........
--DreHectik 07:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Dude, not to be a jerk, but you've got these lyrics ALL wrong . . . 69.236.64.186 (talk) 06:41, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Are they and Emo band?
[edit]I would say yes there Emo because if you look up emo on wikipedia the mean of Emo is Indie rock and Post Hardcore which The Classic crime is. and look most band they look up to are Emo, or post hardocre, or indie, or Metal.
Real Emo bands are Hardcore punk, which this band isn't.Inhumer 21:06, 23 June 2007 (UTC) Dude Go on Emo look i high lighted it for you and look you will see Emo= Indie rock, Post hardcore which this band is And most websites say the band is emo. And also the band has addmtied that some song are Emo influndce. Look Jimmy eat world is not Hardcore Punk, and there emo all the way samething with Taking back sunday. SO stop taking emo out of this band.skateremorocker
Emo = Emotive Hardcore Punk. Inhumer 19:06, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
We Still Didnt answer me when i said Jimmy Eat world is Emo and Taking back sunday is Emo, And Indie rock is emo YOU STILL DIDNT ANSWER!
Though I'm not super familiar with it I think JEW part of the second wave in the early 90's when there sound was different. TBS are just a rock band no matter what their article says. Inhumer 17:29, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Dude TCC is emo most websites say there are and they even say there an emo infulince bandDreHectik
Well if anyone can find a valid source they are. Otherwise it will be taken down from the infobox.
Screamo?!
[edit]ya i would this band does screamo in there shows and on the cd. but i would call i more spazz rock yellin and screamin. but who cares.
Um if you noice it on the Song The Fight When the guiter solo comes up Matt does some good screamo if you dont know listen closely And he scream Readly or not iam a cheater or somthing like that.skateremorocker
I dont think we should add screamo to the genre, but i do agree that the band does do some screaming in their song, and also in shows. But if any thing maybe Hardcore or Post Grunge should be add to the genre? Any thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rockismorethanmusic (talk • contribs) 20:28, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
screamo is not just random screaming, hahaha. this is rock/pop punk with "attitude" at the least 90.231.89.40 (talk) 14:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Well their not pop punk their Indie Rock, Punk Rock, Alternative Rock, Emo, Post Grunge(this genre should be add to their genre it fits them).
Most CD SALES??
[edit]This claim they have had the highest first week CD sales is a complete lie. Bands like MXPX, Juliana Theory, Anberlin, Mae, Emery, and Underoath (especially with 96,000) have all had better opening weeks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Why217 (talk • contribs) 07:30, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
That is true i will put the sales that they got in that month which is 40,000, and take off the 4,000. Rockismorethanmusic (talk) 20:38, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
This is not a claim that The Classic Crime themselves make, it is a claim that the label makes. To be clear, they had the highest first week sales out of any DEBUT album on Tooth and Nail, not any album period. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.251.219.11 (talk) 21:21, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Should We Add This
[edit]Should we Post Hardcore to the bands genre due to their new album[1]. Plese add any thing if you wish.Skateremorocker (talk) 01:17, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Christian lyrics
[edit]I know we've gone over this a couple times before but what's to be said about the christian lyrics in some songs.Even if they're not in a majority of them they still have some songs like The coldest heart,Abracadevers and God and Drugs and some others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.29.32.32 (talk) 22:42, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
The fact that they aren't a christian band we don't have to put that on the page, but yes i know what you mean.User:Skateremorocker —Preceding undated comment was added at 19:23, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Indie Rock
[edit]Alright i've got to say for a fact TCC isn't a Indie Rock band. They are just on an Indie record label.Skateremorocker (talk) 14:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Really?
[edit]Skateremorocker, just because they are not a "Christian band" does not mean its okay to delete an entire section of the article. Try reading the section dealing with the band's faith; it clearly states that the band does not consider themselves to be "Christian". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spencerz (talk • contribs) 01:46, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Ok if TCC isn't a christian band then why is alternative ccm part of their genre why don't we leave alternative rock. It makes alot more sense.
I dont understand this crap? i've found many sources and we have a whole section on the page that talks about TCC not being a christian band yet you post Alternative ccm????? CAN YOU READ?? I mean proof is right there. Come on now dont be a jackass. Skateremorocker (talk) 21:59, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
RE: Alt CCM
[edit]Don't be a jackass??? YOU have been the source of genre debate on this article multiple times. Hell, there was a moderation, by an administrator, about the constant genre war between you and hippotopous or whatever his name is. Did you ever bother to read the verdict? The admin decided the Alt. CCM would stay in the infobox, and the arguments for and against the christianity of the band would be discussed in detail in the article. If anyone's being a jackass it's you, the person who just won't let it go.
We all know by now that you're unhappy with even the slightest thought of one of the bands you listen to being christian, but it's not about what you want. Get over yourself. Take a page from Paul McCartney and let it be. --Spence The Chef (talk) 01:54, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Adding a section about the members
[edit]Shouldn't there be a section that lists the members of the band? People who used to be in it, but aren't anymore, people who joined after the initial formation of the band, other projects the band members may be working on, etc. Sections like this exist on the pages of many, many other bands. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.7.169.205 (talk) 17:51, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
