Is more not known about the process by which this book was ghostwritten? I read it when it came out (autumn 1993) and the difference in tone between chapters was so blatant that they had obviously been written by different people. Lots of famous people do that of course - Churchill's "History of the Second World War" was written by two teams of ghostwriters (military and civilian), but was then given a thorough going-over (or at least a lot of it was) by Churchill, who was a genuinely talented writer. In this case I suspect a bit less effort had gone into the rewrite. I later met somebody who claimed to have seen the different drafts submitted by different writers before they were collated. Maybe Vol 3 of Charles Moore's biog will shed more light.Paulturtle (talk) 15:02, 13 January 2018 (UTC) It's just occurred to me that the person who claimed to have seen the different drafts shared a surname with, and may therefore have been a son or close relative of, one of the writers listed in article. I suppose it's possible that somebody might have discreetly submitted a chapter on foreign affairs or the minutiae of economic policy, for example.Paulturtle (talk) 15:13, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
