[edit]Shouldn't this have fallen into PD worldwide by now? Why does the external links seem to imply it's only PD in Canada? Why doesn't the Gutenber Project carry a copy? Is someone in the US claiming copyright of the work?--84.90.210.108 (talk) 11:39, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
It's in PD in most countries, but it's worth noting that PD is not universal (hence the notation). It is copyright 1923 in the US, and Gibran himself died in 1931. Under US copyright law, it then went into the public domain in the US. Other countries have different laws regarding PD.98.225.230.65 (talk) 01:11, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- Just a quick note: on Project Gutenberg's website [1] it says: "Works published and copyrighted 1923-1977 retain copyright for 95 years. No such works will enter the public domain until 2019...". Seems like the rule of author's death + 75 years doesn't apply, at least on the US. Itzcuauhtli (talk) 06:33, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
It may be pointed out that the reference link given for the US Copyright being still operative i.e http://www.copyright.cornell.edu/resources/publicdomain.cfm is moving to a blank page. What is that supposed to mean? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:204:D302:24A:D586:38C9:273E:598B (talk) 04:42, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
Referenced in the film Walk The Line
[edit]The character of June Carter gives a copy to Johnny Cash's character in the film. I wonder if that fact is worthy of mention at all (i.e., If it's apocryphal). 99.233.134.199 (talk) 01:54, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Do you know that there is the picture of Russian artist Vasnetsov about Old Russian bard Boyan on the book? :) --VAP+VYK (talk) 13:00, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
