Junior Team (Spartans Junior FC) seperate article
[edit]Would it not be better if the newly created Spartans Junior FC had a seperate article which can link into this one, as it is now a completely seperate entity to the team which plays in the East of Scotland League, and therefore deserves it's own article.
Please decide on this a soon as possible. Dreamweaverjack (talk) 15:05, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not really convinced this is necessary. Yes, they are separate teams in some regards, such as player registrations, given that they compete under different bodies, but they are part of the same club. The Spartans website certainly gives that impression. A split could be argued for on these grounds, and indeed that's what we do with the Spanish reserve teams, for example. These outfits play at a much higher level though, and therefore there are better sources and more to say about them. I don't think there's so much information about Spartans that both teams can't be comfortably covered in a single article, especially considering they have the same strips, badge, ground etc. Jellyman (talk) 00:59, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Split declined. Article needs more reliable sources and also needs building before a split can be considered. SilkTork *YES! 20:50, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
Name
[edit]Wondering if the club name should appear as The Spartans in other Wikipedia articles, such as the Lowland League and Scottish Cup? There seems to be a mixture of usage elsewhere online. Boothy m (talk) 20:57, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
- Just be WP:BOLD and do it. Not all independent sources ([1] [2] [3]) are referring to them as The Spartans yet but I'd guess that's only a matter of time. The club refer to themselves as The Spartans [4], as do the Lowland League [5], the BBC [6] and some other publishers [7] so I'd say there was enough evidence to justify it from this season. Annoyingly the SFA [8] don't though. Stevie fae Scotland (talk) 22:17, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
