Maintenance headers

[edit]

Three maintenance headers/templates have been repeatedly removed. They are "notability|music", "Primary sources" and "cleanup-link rot".

Notability under WP:MUSIC can be established several ways. Please see Wikipedia:Music#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles and explain here how the group meets the criteria.

Primary sources do not establish notability. Wikipedia needs substantial coverage in independent reliable sources. This article is based almost entirely on the group's own website (obviously not independent of the group) or websites for venues where they have performed (again, not independent).

Clean-up to prevent link rot is to prevent ... wait for it ... link rot. Sources that consist entirely of URLs ("web addresses") are vulnerable to link rot: the website goes down, moves or simply reorganizes their pages. With just a URL, we would no longer be able to verify the source. ofull citations for sources would resolve this issue.

Please do not remove maintenance tags and templates without resolving the issues or discussing whether or not the problems exist. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:16, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They've been removed again by one of the two conflicted editors. Comments before I restore them? - SummerPhD (talk) 12:05, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am restoring them. - SummerPhD (talk) 03:12, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notability Guideline for Music

[edit]

Criteria for musicians and ensembles-

A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, instrumentalist, etc.) may be notable if it meets at least one of the following criteria: Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself.
