In the Battles section, For the Battles round, Kelsea Ballerini filled in for Kelly Clarkson, who was feeling "under the weather". it should read For the Battles round, Kelsea Ballerini filled in for Clarkson, who was feeling "under the weather". to fit WP:BLPNAME. Same should be done in the lead, as well as unlinking the second mention of Clarkson, per WP:OVERLINK. livelikemusic (TALK!) 23:48, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Per @MarcioRob24: request at The Voice's talk page, here is the table with the current season. Chase | talk 00:05, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reply for @CCamp2013: Looks very nice. I'm gonna ping more editors to see their opinions; okay? – MarcioRob24 (talk) 00:26, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to @MarcioRob24: Sounds good to me, the more opinions the better. Chase | talk 01:28, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Taitrung2000:, @HeartGlow30797:, @Evenhans1:, @Peterrrroblox:, @Livelikemusic:, @Peter Gregorius Wiraputera:, @Vhmadeira:, @Disney1024: since all of you have contributed for the page recently, we would like to know your opinion on this table change. – MarcioRob24 (talk) 01:41, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I personally don't think the table change is necessary since the previous table has worked in the past. However, I do like the idea that was recently implemented, regarding highlighting in periwinkle the names of the artists that advanced to the next round. I like the table how it currently is on the page and I don't think we need to change it.
Disney1024 (talk) 01:54, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to @MarcioRob24: Personally I do not like the changes to the new table and what exactly does "going to the next round" highlight on the table?, is it a spoiler? - Peterrrrobolox
Reply to @Peterrrroblox: No, it is not a spoiler. The highlight is to indicate that the artist has, in this stage of the competition, won the battle or was stolen/saved, and is going through to the Knockouts. It is a way of organization. Also, the next time you write here use ~~~~ and the end of your message. – MarcioRob24 (talk) 15:00, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Disney1024: Okay, thank you for your thoughts. The table as it is right now is according to the current stage of the competition. Perhaps you should see the table on Talk:The Voice (American TV series) to check out this table format but for season 19, which has already wrapped up. Maybe you will change your opinion. – MarcioRob24 (talk) 02:14, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to @Disney1024: One argument that probably should never be made is that "it worked in the past". We would never be able to improve wikipedia if we always had this mindset, but I am not a huge fan of the way I proposed, because but something needs to change because of the many colors that are currently being used. However, I came up with another fix, that I think will be a compromise, and it requires much less work:
Slight change to the old table
Coaches Top 40 artists
Kelly Clarkson
DeSz Tanner Gomes Ryan Gallagher Marisa Corvo Joseph Soul Skylar Alyvia Mayton
Cami Clune Madeline Consoer Sid Kingsley Kelsie Watts Emmalee Eli Zamora
Gwen Stefani
Carter Rubin Payge Turner Chloé Hogan Van Andrew Lauren Frihauf Tori Miller
Ben Allen Joseph Soul Larriah Jackson Ryan Berg Liam St. John Lain Roy
John Legend
John Holiday Bailey Rae Cami Clune Lauren Frihauf James Pyle Rio Souma
Tamara Jade Chloé Hogan Julia Cooper Casmè Sid Kingsley Olivia Reyes
Blake Shelton
Jim Ranger Worth the Wait Taryn Papa James Pyle Sam Stacy John Sullivan
Ian Flanigan Sid Kingsley Ben Allen Jus Jon Aaron Scott Payton Lamar
Note: Italicized names are stolen artists (names struck through within former teams). Underlined names are artists who were saved by their coach in the Battles and advanced to the Four-way Knockout.
Let me know what you think about this one, because I think it keeps the format that you like, but makes it much easier to identify the information that is being presented. In the current state, the table is not usable in my opinion. Chase | talk 13:11, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@CCamp2013:, @Disney1024: To be honest I prefer the first proposal :). This one reminds me of the table that has been used for all these years, hence I'm gonna inevitably compare them. The thing I like of the first option is the division of each stage into columns. – MarcioRob24 (talk) 13:38, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to @MarcioRob24: I think each of the tables have their pros and cons honestly, but I think any change we make will significantly improve the current format. I just want to be sure everyone is happy with the change because I understand why someone would not like the first proposal as it is a more drastic change than what is currently there. I am always up for a compromise though! Chase | talk 13:43, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to @CCamp2013: You're right, each one has pros and cons. If we're gonna this by voting or something, I prefer the first one. Let's wait for more opinions, I guess. – MarcioRob24 (talk) 15:11, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The trouble with the current blind audition mass-table is that it is in-violation of MOS:ACCESS and MOS:DTT, the latter of which advises against including column headers in the middle of the table (such as those spanning several columns), and provides examples. livelikemusic (TALK!) 23:12, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to @Livelikemusic: I am not sure what you mean by blind audition table, as we are discussing the teams table (the first table on the page). If that is also what you are discussing, none of the column headers are in the middle of the table. Chase | talk 02:24, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Either way, both tables pose the same problem I pointed out. livelikemusic (TALK!) 02:26, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to @Livelikemusic: Can you elaborate like I said because I do not understand what you are talking about. Chase | talk 02:28, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to @Livelikemusic: From my understanding, none of the current tables within the article violate either MOS:ACCESS, nor MOS:DTT (definitely not this one as far as column headers go). Chase | talk 02:32, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should go for consistency here in my opinion Superman011 (talk) 06:26, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to @Superman011: Can you elaborate? I am not sure what you mean? Chase | talk 23:11, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So well consistently is in my everyday life and I think we should be fair on hiw the table is formatted — Preceding unsigned comment added by Superman011 (talkcontribs) 06:31, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to @Superman011: I know what consistency means, I meant, I am not sure what you are trying to say "we should go for consistency", when nothing here is trying to detour from consistency? Chase | talk 13:53, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Steal/Save Issue

[edit]

User:Fun81, So we say John already used his one and only steal, say blake hasn't used either(2) of his, and say that each coach only has one? What is with the inaccuracy? Here is my evidence.

File:StealRules.png
Clearly states each coach has one steal
File:TheVoiceBattlesTable2021April6.png
Shows each coach has two steals

Also, if my wikitext isn't correct, feel free to fix it. I copied and pasted an earlier post to use as my template for wiki markup because I don't have that much experience with source editors. Or contact me directly, if that would be easier.Heart (talk) 6, April 2021 13:04(UTC)Fun81 (talk) 17:10, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Fun81: There are two Stolen artists in the Teams' table because one is for the Battles round and the other is for the Knockouts. Hope I helped – MarcioRob24 (talk) 20:31, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MarcioRob24: Can we Add "(B)" = Stolen Battle Artist and "(K)" = Stolen Knockout Artist to the key and table. This is the only minor change I request as it would clarify things for those who haven't seen the main "the voice" page and because things with steals and saves change from season to season. Thank you for your support as I am still very new to wikipedia talk pages. Fun81 (talk) 20:31, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fun81 (talk) 22:41, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Fun81: I understand your concerns. But let's see it this way: right now, only Blake has the chance to steal on the Battles, and he will do it next week. All the other Stolen artists will be for the knockouts. Do you think it is really necessary to add those keys? – MarcioRob24 (talk) 23:30, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MarcioRob24: Well, I guess it could be temporary for when the show is airing, I guess next season it might be a better idea. Yeah, it's just when the knockouts section isn't written because "we don't know" if they'll change anything, you look at the battles and say, hey what's that other steal for? and then it says "Steal used" and you get even more confused. Anyway, you could just add a "note/asterisk" indicating which is which just for clarification even though it will say it in the knockout section of the article.

Actually, I just came up with a better idea. Color code the steal boxes, one for knockouts, one for battles. This is more so for future seasons because we are already so far in and you've kinda already done it but would be a good idea even before so people still know. Fun81 (talk) 00:02, 7 April 2021 (UTC)Fun81 (talk)[reply]

@Fun81: To be honest, I think right now it is not necessary to add anything. However, you can always color the background of one of the stolen artist on Blake's team with lavender, since that means the artist will go to the next round, and leave the rest in white. – MarcioRob24 (talk) 00:17, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I respect your decision.(Fun81)

Artists Moved

[edit]
@MarcioRob24: So, there's two stolen artists, and these are indicated on the second line. So why are we moving them around the board/table, it makes it all jumbled. If the box says stolen artist, put the stolen artist in that box! why would you move it around, the first 10 artists shouldn't be moved from their original positions. It just makes it easier in the long run instead of having this messy jumble. Fun81 (talk)
@Fun81: Artists are organized in alphabetical order. Stolen artists are new to the respective coach, and they must be moved to the alphabetical order as well. The battle losers are in the end of the second line, because if we think in positions, they are "last" places of each team. – MarcioRob24 (talk) 00:46, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have created a draft for the winning performer at Draft:Cam Anthony. I do not believe that they are sufficiently notable at this time, but they are unusually well-reported for a Voice winner, and there is a reasonable probability that they will become notable in the future.
