I shall change "It has been suggested that he echos the Norse god Thor: they were both fatherless, ate prodigiously and used a hammer-like weapon (there is even a suggestion that the "miller" and Thor's hammer Mjolnir come from the same source)." into "It has been suggested that he echos the Norse god Thor: they were both known for fighting giants, ate prodigiously and used a hammer-like weapon (there is even a suggestion that the "miller" and Thor's hammer Mjolnir come from the same source)." as Thor was not fatherless, he was the son of Odin (Old English: Woden).
