[edit]Hello Robertissimo, could you give a reason for your speedy deletion proposal? If you compare this page with that of other fellows of Nuffield, there's not much of a difference. As for relevance, I'm sure there are people who want to know about the career of Snijders. He may be a Nobel prize winner of the future, several of his colleagues at Nuffield have a Nobel prize in their pocket (or wherever you carry a prize like that). I could expand a little about his career, if you want. Soczyczi 18:02, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- See the general guideline for biographical notability at WP:BIO, as well as the proposed one specifically for academics at WP:PROF. The principal issue that struck me in the article as it stands is the lack of independent, reliable sources attesting to the subject's notability. Future Nobel or not (and WP is not a crystal ball), the subject may well meet the criteria for inclusion; if not, whether or not there are other similarly unsourced articles is beside the point. - The subject meets several of the guidelines proposed in WP:PROF, see for instance (I googled the name Snijders) Ohio State University study programme for use of Snijders's Multilevel Analysis as a textbook on a university totally independent from his direct influence. I also found his name in some pages of the Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research ([1] (University of Manchester). I'm sure you don't want Dutch language weblinks.
- And of course there are the honors / awards. A honorary doctor at an important foreign university, three professorships at universities in various parts of the world (Groningen, Utrecht, and Melbourne), before getting a full professorship at a prestigious English university college - that will never happen to me, maybe some time to you, but it certainly happened to the subject of this entry. So standards of Wikipedia at WP:PROF have been met already. If you have suggestions for citations or links, please go ahead. Soczyczi 01:12, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
