The article is actually fairly factual - I would suggest someone removes the 'conflict of interest' box at the top, it is rather old anyway. I would remove it myself but I do a small amount of volunteering work for MySociety and I don't ant to get into a long debate about whether I have a 'COI' or not. This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Specific text to be added or removed: 'Tom Steinberg is a nonprofit leader and author, with a career history mainly in public interest technology, and in the profession of grantmaking. He is the co-author of the book 'Modern Grantmaking: A Guide for Funders Who Believe Better is Possible' and is a Co-Director and Founding Editor of Teaching Public Service in the Digital Age, an open access education project.'
Reason for the change: The page feels about a decade out of date, and I have been told that it is confusing for people who know me in more modern guises. The photo also shows me at a much younger age than I am now!
Partly done It looks like this was done by User:JohnNealon. Specific text to be added or removed: Please consider removing " In doing so, he wrote:[12]
I regret that I seem to have allowed the impression to arise that I must myself be a conservative, who was trying to get the Tories elected. I'm not, and was not. I've never voted for a conservative party either in the UK or the US. I am a left-of-centre moderate who doesn't talk much about his personal politics because I don't enjoy the abuse you get when you do. Plus, the great majority of the technological advice I give is equally valid for governments of the left and right."
Reason for the change: I would argue that I no longer hold a position where my UK voting intention is a matter of public interest (which it was back when I ran transparency and accountability websites). As someone who is more of an ordinary citizen now, this feels like quite personal information that could have negative impacts on me, with no real counterveiling public interest value.
Not done I understand what you are requesting, but given that the article does mention your past experiences in those areas, the quote does provide context to the article. Although you mention that this information is "personal information", it is sourced to what appears to be your publicly available blog [1]. If you had additional comments, such as that the quote is taking out of context or misrepresents you, please remove the "|D" in the above {{request edit}} to reopen the request for someone else to review.
