Edit controversies on Anti-Racist Action page and problems with this page[edit]
New editors might be interested in the background to the creation of this article, as much of the material in this article, written by Torchist was previously deleted from the Anti-Racist Action article due to problems with the use of sources. The article currently says "In the final post on their official website AntiRacistAction.org in 2013, Anti-Racist Action accounced that their activities would henceforth be carried on under the name of The Torch Network", citing this blogpost, which (a) is very obviously not the final post on the website[1] and (b) is clearly signed "torchantifa.org" and not ARA. I have removed the several paragraphs about ARA. - I have now removed the mosst problematic material from the article (see these diffs: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Torch_Network&type=revision&diff=979730251&oldid=979116674 ) but I think the page needs more work, including careful checking of the non-online sources cited, given sloppy use of sourcing in the article. - I think this needs to be turned back into a redirect. Very few of the small number of reliable sources cited seem to even mention the Torch Network. I've only had a cursory look for better sources, but I think the organisation is very unlikely to be independently notable and is best covered in a couple of sentences in Antifa (United States). – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:29, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
