Spelling problem

[edit]

According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, the first successful monoplane flight – a duration of 12 meters – was on March 18, 1906 in a craft fashioned by "Trajan Buia", a Romanian inventor.[1][2] The Wikipedia article spells it with a V. 7&6=thirteen () 16:21, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  1. ^ "Monoplane". Encyclopædia Britannica, Encyclopædia Britannica Online. Encyclopædia Britannica Inc. Retrieved March 18, 2012.
  2. ^ Compare, Trajan Vuia, (1872-1950)

Please make sure I did this right.

Brittanica online looks like an initial V to me. Vuia is usual spellingTheLongTone (talk) 17:19, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, you didn't do the redirect right, but I have fixed it. You can see how I have done it, or WP:REDIRECT explains. JohnCD (talk) 17:40, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not an initial V, but a name "Vuia." I replied on The Long Tone's talk page. 7&6=thirteen () 17:56, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, but I could swear it was "Buia" when I started this morning. I made the edit to monoplane and did not actually type in the name, but only wikified it and got a red link. I'm not making this up. I don't know if Britannica corrected it. Can't explain. 7&6=thirteen () 18:05, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the Britannica daily e-mail, apparently I was wrong. I apologize for the error. 7&6=thirteen () 19:37, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
