Merger

[edit]

I am proposing the addition of these two pages, Istanbul modern tramways and Istanbul nostalgic tramways, to this page. Other Trams in <city name> pages explain the existing system as well as the history. I find it confusing while there are three seperate pages over the same topic. Does anyone disagree with this? Strong oppose as per reasons outlined here. --IJBall (talk) 17:35, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Follow-up: Now one thing I am noticing about this article is that it is missing a final section called something like "Modern tramways" or something, which would briefly describe the modern and heritage tramway systems in Istanbul, and include {{Main}} article linkers to the separate articles on those systems. Most "Trams in [city]" articles about first-generation tramways that ceased service, and then were re-introduced years later with a modern tramway, have a section like that – e.g. Trams in Athens, Trams in Rouen or Streetcars in Atlanta. So a better solution than a merge would be to add such a section to the bottom of this Trams in Istanbul article. --IJBall (talk) 18:14, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That is what I proposed. To add that info on those other two pages to this one on the bottom. (Central Data Bank (talk) 22:18, 8 January 2015 (UTC))[reply]
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying you do a very brief summary of the current tram systems at the bottom of this article, with links to the two separate articles on the modern systems. But the three articles should not be merged – they cover three fully discreet topics fully consistent with WP:TOPIC. --IJBall (talk) 16:01, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, keep them separate.--DThomsen8 (talk) 00:28, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
