Semi-protected edit request on 20 March 2018

I wish to add the fact released early this day, the fact that Trippie Redd died earlier today (3/20/18). Bennsce (talk) 18:22, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

Please provide reliable sources for the changes you wish to make. This is not the page to request additional user rights. Instead post the changes you wish to make and someone will add them in for you. Additionally you can wait until your account is autoconfirmed and then make the edits yourself. — IVORK Discuss 23:01, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

I have just seen this response, and I would like to inform you that Trippie Redd is very much alive and in good health. I find this extremely aggravating, as you are spreading lies on a page that is supposed to be truthful and based on legitimate sources. I suggest that you find real sources which carry some REAL truth to them, and base your responses on them. Sorry if this comes off as a tad hostile but for fans of Trippie - especially me - and users and readers of Wikipedia, this comes off as annoying. Thanks. Lead genre warring

my boi — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.242.152.226 (talk) 19:45, 13 November 2018 (UTC) DovahDuck and Rockallnight5, you need to chill with the edit warring in the lead before you both get reported. A good middle ground, as I've seen at other pages like Fetty Wap and Ty Dolla Sign is to say "rapper, singer, songwriter." Musician is redundant and DovahDuck hasn't provided any reasonable explanation for why the lead needs to include it. I've pinged you both and now you know, so any further reverts will be looked at with prejudice. Etzedek24 (I'll talk at ya) (Check my track record) 01:33, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

Etzedek24, I've only intentionally reverted the user two times on this page regarding the lead. I have yet to fully commence an edit war with the user about the use of the word musician on the lead, and do not have any desire to, after looking at a couple of other articles (XXXTentacion's for example) about artists similar to Trippie Redd in style, I agree with the user that in Trippie Redd's case, it's not necessary for the lead to refer to him as a musician. (I was even going to revert my edit myself until they did it for me.) To be honest, I perceived the edits on this page by the user as just being more disruptive edits by new users/IP Addresses (Which I deal with it a lot) until I looked more closely at the edits and thought it through. My apologies to Rockallnight5 if I came out as a bit hostile. DovahDuck(talk) -- 04:20, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
All's well that ends well. Cooler heads prevail. Etzedek24 (I'll talk at ya) (Check my track record) 04:43, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

Alternative Rock

theres an article claiming that trippie (who said it himself) was an alternative rock artist, during his early days as a musician, so is it safe to use that as a source and maybe put “(early)” next to it? EveryonesFAVORITE*toy (talk) 20:10, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

Trippie Redd's brother

I think that Trippie Redd's older brother that goes by L, should be included into Trippie's early life section since he passed in a car crash.

Playboi Carti

The last paragraph under career contains the sentence "He removed Playboi Carti off the album". There is no previous or later mention of Playboi Carti in the article. Why did he remove Playboi Carti? What did Playboi Carti contribute that was removed? Is this info sourced or even true?MelqartOfHinnom (talk) 03:05, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

Trippie Redd's Affinity with the number 14

In many Trippie Redd songs he mentions the number 14 and 1400. He also has it tattooed in red ink in the middle of his forehead. White states to "Pigeons and Planes" that it has two meanings. The first is that he grew up on a street called "14th Street" in Canton, Ohio. He also explained that the numbers 14 and 1400 pop up in his life daily. He claims his family is very spiritual and his grandmother says that there is a "14 angel" [1]

Associated acts removal

@JohnFromPinckney: Hi there. I just wanted to explain the additions I made to Redd's "associated acts" section to show that each of them meets the criteria used in the template's documentation and that they are not merely every rap act White ever heard of. According to the documentation, "Acts with which this act has collaborated on multiple occasions, or on an album, or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together" may be included as associated acts.

  • White and Baby Goth collaborated twice, on "A.L.L.T.Y. 3" and "Swimming".
  • White and Chief Keef collaborated thrice, on "I Kill People", "BILAP", and "Choppa Shoot the Loudest".
  • White and Chris Brown collaborated twice, on "Mood" and "Yoppa".
  • White and Chris King collaborated six times, on "Love Scars Pt. 2", "Back of My Mind", "Dangerous", "Overweight", "U Deserve It", and "Can You Rap Like Me, Pt. 2".
  • White and Cydnee with a C collaborated twice, on "Feel Good" and "Back of My Mind".
  • White and Elliott Trent collaborated twice, on "Diamond Minds" and "No Time High Steez".
  • White and Emani22 collaborated twice, on "Fire Starter" and "Emani Interlude".
  • White and Famous Dex collaborated thrice, on "Blade of Woe", "Solar System", and "A Must".
  • White and Future collaborated twice, on "Never Change" and "Kid that Didd".
  • White and Iann Dior collaborated twice, on "Gone Girl" and "Shot in the Dark".
  • White and Internet Money collaborated twice, on "Really Redd" and "Blastoff".
  • White and Joji collaborated twice, on "18" and "R.I.P.".
  • White and Juice Wrld collaborated five times, on "1400/999 Freestyle", "6 Kiss", "Tell Me U Luv Me", "Matt Hardy 999", and "Blastoff".
  • White and Machine Gun Kelly collaborated four times, on "Pill Breaker", "Red Sky", "Candy", and "All I Know".
  • White and Myiah Lennae collaborated twice, on "Let It Out" and "Sun God (Above You)".
  • White and Quavo collaborated three times, on "No Honorable Mentions", "Ghostbusters", and "Red Butterflies".
  • White and Rich the Kid collaborated three times, on "Personal Favorite", "Early Morning Trappin", and "Icky Vicky".
  • White and Smokepurpp collaborated three times, on "All For Me", "Crash", and "50k".
  • White and Tory Lanez collaborated three times, on "Diamond Minds", "Sickening", and "Ferris Wheel".
  • White and Travis Barker collaborated on an entire album, Neon Shark vs Pegasus.
  • White and UnoTheActivist collaborated three times, on "Deeply Scarred", "Today", "Built for It".
  • White and YoungBoy Never Broke Again collaborated three times, on "Elevate & Motivate", "Hate Me", and "Murda".
  • White and Young Thug collaborated three times, on "Forever Ever", "Yell Oh", and "Spaceships".

I started an ongoing discussion on the template talk page for the musician infobox about many of the things that would qualify these acts to be kept or removed, such as increasing the number of necessary collaborations to three and whether or not acts that do not pass WP:GNG should be included. I would love if you could give your input there. In the meantime, until consensus is reached there, I will restore my edits. benǝʇᴉɯ 18:34, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
