Redirect[edit]

Hi @Cyphoidbomb: Some user removed all the content from this page and redirected it to another page Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific. Just wanted to know is this right way to merge a page.Sidaq pratap (talk) 18:55, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Sidaq pratap: In this version of Turner International Australia, there's very little going on other than a brief description and a short list of programs. We have lots of articles about small-scale television networks, and a number of TV editors think that this is often somewhat unnecessary. Is Turner International Australia independently noteworthy? Probably not. So why do we need a unique article on it? Just so we can log the reruns that it broadcasts? Articles of this sort typically never grow beyond a list of shows. Doesn't serve much of an academic purpose. So:
  1. Was it inappropriate to redirect to Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific? Not immediately in my estimation. As noted above, sometimes these individual network articles are pointless and it's better to include the content in a more general umbrella article.
  2. "Is this the right way to merge a page?" It doesn't look like he moved any content from this article to the other, just turned this one into a redirect.
Note that you're always free to open a discussion with another user to ask about the reasoning for their changes. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:39, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
