Bugs?

[edit]

The image and article disagree on at least the following:

- the middle horizontal segment of E is called a 'bar' in the article text
- the middle horizontal segment of E is identified as a 'tie' in the image/caption

I am not proficient in this area, so someone else will have to clear up the conflict. 69.134.33.85 (talk) 21:50, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed the same thing, and it still needs fixing. Also, the diagram has arrows pointing to curves that supposedly illustrate counters, which the text clearly describes as the negative (white) space inside those curves. yoyo (talk) 02:19, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Enhancements

[edit]

There's a good free image that illustrates ALL the anatomy: http://font.is/2009/07/wallpaper-font-anatomy/

The author was asked for permission to use his work in Wikipedia and agreed (See the comments, about 2/3 way down). It is the most comprehensive explanation i ever saw :) Someone should integrate this. I'm too lazy and forgot how to write mediawiki markup :P -- 85.178.192.163 (talk) 07:11, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The link was already in the article. As for permission to use the image, the author never explicitly stated the license on which he released the image, which is the only way to override the default full copyright protection. So the image cannot be integrated yet. Feel free to poke him so he might update the post with licensing information :) --Waldir talk 19:26, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Link is dead but is still visible at http://archive.is/d3I4b --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 15:37, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And the wallpaper is at https://archive.is/C3XVG/16b57af04189b2070fa75ff1968e699bd0e01d72.jpg --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 15:39, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adding "Story" or "Storey"

[edit]

The term "story" appears in articles about typefaces and letters but does not appear here. I'd like to circle back and find a source for a definition, but leaving this note here in case someone finds it. Examples are single story a, double story g etc. Recognitor (talk) 22:19, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I added this under "space" — though not sure it best belongs there. Recognitor (talk) 22:32, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
