Rays as the "owners"?
[edit]The Rays only own a small portion of the team; they put in "less than $2M" as seen here: http://www.tampabay.com/sports/baseball/rays/the-tampa-bay-rays-investment-in-the-florida-tuskers-of-the-united/1027214 Hell, they're not even the majority minority-owners (the UFL owns 50% of all franchises). Do we know who the other owners are? It's very misleading to say the Rays are the owners if they don't even have a say in personnel, isn't it? EaglesFanInTampa 19:38, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
- While we do need a better source (by WP:RS standards) than the message board I saw it on, supposedly that $2M gives them the majority controlling interest of the individual ownership of the franchise. Essentially, the Rays owners are the controlling owners (or managing partners may be a better phrasing) of the Tuskers, and therefore are the appropriate entry for the article's infobox. It says something about the value of UFL franchises, though. oknazevad (talk) 03:30, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
