Proposed Deletion
[edit]Tagged this article for deletion on the following grounds:
- Newfoundland Island appears to be a secondary name for Ukasiksalik Island (see here and here for examples. Ukasiksalik Island is located on Davis Inlet, Labrador, not Groswater Bay, which is part of Hamilton Inlet near Lake Melville and Goose Bay. (See here for a description of Groswater Bay as located near Rigolet.)
- a google search for "Newfoundland Island" and "Groswater Bay" generates a handful of hits, almost all of which are direct copies of this article or the Newfoundland disambiguation page. The few which are not indicate that Newfoundland Island is also known as Freestone island, which is also known as Ukasiksalik Island.
- as either Newfoundland Island or Ukasiksalik Island, the notability of this location is questionable. Other than map coordinates and alternate name information, there is very little third-party reference to this island.
If the article survives it should be under the Ukasiksalik Island name.Vulcan's Forge (talk) 23:20, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
