The result of the proposal was move Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:52, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Dwarf Furze → Ulex gallii — The plant normally called "dwarf furze" in UK usage is Ulex minor, and so the use of that common name for this article is confusing. I therefore propose that abiguity is avoided by renaming this article Ulex gallii, with hatnotes for "dwarf furze" on both this and Ulex minor. Richard New Forest (talk) 12:29, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have now found a ref (see recent edit) for "Dwarf Furze" as a name for this species – but the same ref also gives the same common name for Ulex minor, so the argument remains the same. Richard New Forest (talk) 16:20, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- Support. This seems pretty uncontroversial to me per WP:NC (flora). It would also make sense to turn dwarf furze into a disambiguation page. --Rkitko (talk) 00:14, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- Could have a dab, but would only have two items so perhaps hatnotes sufficient. Richard New Forest (talk) 11:42, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- On further consideration, yes, I think a dab would be good: it would pick up people typing "dwarf furze" and allow them to choose which species they want. Richard New Forest (talk) 07:54, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
