[edit]A lot of the text from this article appeared to be copied or paraphrased from http://laredatenea.com/alba.pdf and http://www.fhspereclaver.org/migra-salut-mental/Ulises/Ulysses%20text%202%20english-1.pdf. I have tried to reduce this as much as possible by rewording content. I would appreciate someone copyediting to ensure there is no copyright violation remaining. Definition
[edit]There seems to be two different definitions of Ulysses syndrome:
- 1. A set of symptoms experienced by migrants following migration[1][2][3]
- 2. The ill-effects felt by patients due to a wrongfully diagnosis[4][5][6][7]
Would it be more appropriate to split this article into two articles in order to address the two different definitions? I am not an expert in this topic, perhaps the definition regarding symptoms experienced by migrants refers to a wrongful diagnosis of a disorder. That's what this article seems to suggest in the bottom paragraph of the second page. LoudLizard (talk) 22:42, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

UCSF Medical Student Wikipedia Elective - Workplan
[edit]Hello, I am a medical student at the University of California San Francisco editing this article as part of a class in Winter 2017. Here is my workplan:
Why?
[edit]- High priority, start quality article
- Personal interest in refugee and migrant health
- With over 65 million displaced individuals in the world today, information on mental health of migrants is likely more important than ever
Initial Analysis
[edit]- Poor sentence structure and awkward syntax
- Nonuniform use of terms
- Unclear definition of syndrome (i.e. due to stress of migration vs. wrongful diagnosis)
- Paragraphs too similar to source material
- Lacking treatment options (e.g. use of CHWs)
What Will Be Added/Augmented
[edit]- Edit for grammar, clarity, uniformity, and brevity
- Improve use of source material to avoid copyright/plagiarism
- Add section on treatment and therapy considerations
What Will Be Removed/Diminished:
[edit]- Background of Dr. Joseba Achotegui
Coordination Plan:
[edit]- Work-In-Progression (WIP) sessions on 11/27, 12/1, and 12/15
- Submit interim progress reports for WIP sessions on 12/6 and 12/11

WikiProject Med Peer Review - 12/11/2017
Overall Comments/Suggestions
- Great job! Props for choosing to work on a start-quality article on an interesting and . Clear description and history of the condition.
- Consider adding an image or figure - even if it’s a picture of Ulysses? Just something to break up the words.
- Consider adding in any epidemiological data about migration in general, or estimations of how many people are affected by this condition? Even if there are no data on this, you can mention that in the lead.
Specific Comments/Suggestions
- The 2nd sentence is necessary (repeats much of what is said in sentence 1)
- New paragraph before “The syndrome is named after…” and incorporate Dr. Joseba Achotegui coined the term "Ulysses Syndrome" in 2002.”
- Bold the 4 category titles of the extreme stressors
- Symptoms can be a bulleted list
Strong work! Michelleyo (talk) 06:30, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! Your comments were super helpful and I incorporated most of them. Has018 (talk) 15:29, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
