synopsis
[edit]Where's the short synopsis for films? Wikipedia ought to apply the standard encyclopedic (read: practical) rules to the film articles, requiring a short synopsis in the heading. Rtdrury (talk) 00:47, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- How about this:
- After electroshock resuscitation from a near-fatal drowning accident, a man (Liam Neeson) has memory difficulties. But although he appears to almost completely recover from these, in a novel twist of the amnesia theme, he can't seem to locate anyone who knows who he is—hence the title—including the woman he finds again who we saw was most definitely with him for the first 5 minutes of the film.JohndanR (talk) 02:43, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
Further to that, who wrote this synopsis?
[edit]Who are the characters "Jones" and "Cole" supposed to be? These names are dropped into the synopsis as if someone who hasn't seen the film should know who they are but they aren't introduced any time before that. Ø (talk) 21:35, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Frantic
[edit]It should be noted that much of the movie is based on the earlier film Frantic with Harrison Ford. The shower-escape scene and the sidekick girl character are straight out of that movie, as well as the overarching premise (Doctor visits European capital, and loses wife, no one will believe him, then he finds sidekick girl, who (reluctantly at first) helps him out, and ends up falling for him. I could go on with the similarities, but if you've seen both movies, they'll be obvious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.170.127.160 (talk) 04:55, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Good plan for mentioning that. I was getting frantic looking for an apparently unknown Harrison Ford movie, then I located this one this one (with Liam Neeson) on a video site; and having found it, I decided there was something wrong with my memory and there was no such H. Ford movie, and perhaps it was a vague similarity between Neeson and Harrison in height, face, and voice, and the character's name 'Harris'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohndanR (talk • contribs) 02:01, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
The Man Who Haunted Himself
[edit]I think it should be noted that much of the movie is based on the earlier film The Man Who Haunted Himself with Roger Moore.--JakobvS (talk) 13:17, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
critics and reviews
[edit]one unreferenced view is not the general consensus. Putting in a reference to a website but not the review is not support its misrepresentation, it's like I put a reference in that pointed to google news and expecting the person to search for a news article for proof X-mass (talk) 23:34, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Recent box office edits
[edit]$51 million (foreign) + $63 million (domestic) = $114 million. This matches the information on Mojo's main page for the film (which also notes both numbers). What am I missing? Millahnna (talk) 03:41, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- Arg nevermind...I just saw your second update. So you're actually adding up all of the individual countries, correct (I've never noticed that fine print about the totals not always matching before)? I'll leave this section here instead of wiping away my idiocy in case someone else questions it in the future. Record of what's what and all that. Millahnna (talk) 03:45, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, the date behind the $51 million is: "as of Mar. 27, 2011". That's four weeks old. Most of the numbers in the listing below that are newer. If you add these numbers, you get a total of $63,793,132. As only some of the results are really up to date, the real gross must be even higher now. --Sitacuisses (talk) 03:49, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Flow My Tears
[edit]When I heard about this film (and the original novel) the first thing that popped into my head was: this reminds me of Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said by Philip K Dick. I was considering editing the article, but the section about similar material is for films only... Custardslice7 (talk) 10:37, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
