Urodilatin is a natriuretic peptide isolated from the human urine recently. It is a 32 amino acid residue in the family of ANP. It is one of the most important natriuretic and constitute most of the natriuretic function of the kidney. It is also a vasodilator, bronchodilator and antagonist of renin angiostensin aldosterone axis.It decreases workload of heart by reducing pulmonary capillary wedge pressure and systemic vascular resistence as evidenced by SIRUS-II trial and is going to be used as a anti heat failure agent in future.
