[edit]I've declined the speedy tag on this article and removed it since, to my mind, notability is clearly asserted in that this individual is part of the "Amateur Latin Champion" team. If it's still desired to delete this article, then a PROD tag or AfD would be the appropriate mechanism. If anyone has questions or problems, I'm at their service on my talk page. Today's edits
[edit]I'm sure the personal-history material was added in good faith, but one of the core policies of Wikipedia is that personal and family claims about living people must be impeccably sourced and cited, per the policy at Biographies of Living Persons. We can't just make uncited claims about someone's religion, family, birth and awards ostensibly won — these need citing from a reliable source, such as newspaper / magazine articles or recognized journalistic websites (and no personal blogs). As well, we can't write conversationally about "Val" — that's inappropriate WP:TONE more suited to a WP:FANSITE.
Again, I'm sure these edits were added in good faith. Please simply remember, this is an encyclopedia — an academic research document — and certain basic rules of proper research and citation obviously must apply. Please see these bluelinked policies and guidelines, and your constructive edits will be much appreciated. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:16, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
