VM's naming scheme
[edit]Amazingly, although this station is at the Tempe Transit Center and steps from Sun Devil Stadium, Valley Metro calls this the "Veterans Way and College Avenue" station. By that principle, Washington Metro's Smithsonian station should be "12th Street and Independence Avenue Southwest" -- which would be technically accurate but conveying no information as to what is there. Worse, Veterans Way is known to most Tempe residents as Fifth Street, which it was until a few years ago. Very few residents, much less visitors, could ever guess that "Veterans Way and College Avenue" is really the bus station and Sun Devil Stadium. It is unknown why Valley Metro chose such useless names for its stations. Wlindley (talk) 10:02, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- I agree, clearly no one was thinking on that one. Cygnusloop99 (talk) 20:07, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- The stations were named by METRO Light Rail and not Valley Metro. METRO is a Valley Metro agency and is very closely related. The mention of "Sun Devil Stadium" station should be removed from this article. --Recnet (talk) 04:48, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
