Query on nationality

[edit]

There is a suggestion in Robin D. S. Higham , The military intellectuals in Britain, 1918-1939, p. 111, that Germains was actually Austrian. Charles Matthews (talk) 08:45, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kinda makes sense with the spy thing and with his book he wrote. The blog I cited said something about Russian/Prussian/Polish birthplace and Jewish. (But born in England.) Given how the borders slid around would have been possible to be of Germanic stock and from father or mother born within the Austrian empire.TCO (talk) 16:20, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would imagine that his book on Austria would have more dope on his background. For that matter all of the books could be examined to check for any little bio info.69.255.27.249 (talk) 23:54, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
