I think I can locate some documents to correct this article. I might be able to find Volney Davis's birth certificate. I am pretty sure that "Curley" is a nickname. As I recall, his Name is Volney Evert Davis. As for where he settled down after release from Alcatraz, I may be able to document that it was not Oregon, but California. I also may be able to access to an official document showing that he died in Sebastopol, California. Is this worth the effort for me to struggle with the Wikipedia editing process? I am not familiar with how everything works. Does this interest anyone? As for me, I simply don't like to see misinformation. Where did these mistakes originate?

Brooklyn Park

[edit]

I am a decendant of Voulney Davis and the Gaurd killed at St. John Hospital was not in Brooklyn Park. It was at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa,Ok. I also was an employee of the Medical Center, where in orientation of the Hospital this was concerned. 2600:1700:6560:2A00:E8AB:9E1A:970F:5C40 (talk) 13:31, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Volney Davis

[edit]

I had added info re: Volney's marriage to Daisy Irene Graham, his date and place of death, and burial site. Someone removed the info. Daisy was my father's first wife, and the mother of two of my brothers. I remember visiting him and Daisy in Guerneville CA many times when I was a child. My brother later became his conservator. Just keep on posting misinformation. 2601:205:4803:7E70:E541:F708:A97D:3388 (talk) 20:31, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know when you added this information or who removed it. If you added this information from memory and didn't cite any published sources, that's probably why it was removed. You can't really add information to an encyclopedia from memory, even if your information is correct. You need published sources. See WP:RS for what you can and can't use as a source on Wikipedia. For example, do you know if any of the information you added is confirmed in such a source? If so, point it out and I will make sure the information is cited properly so that nobody can remove it. To my brother's knowledge, Volney was never married to Edna Murray. Daisy and Volney operated an antique store or thrift shop in Guerneville, California. Pocola782 (talk) 07:09, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, as per WP:RSPSS, FindAGrave and Ancestry.com are sources that cannot be used on Wikipedia. You can read why at the link. Damien Linnane (talk) 04:47, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
