The Article

[edit]

If this title does not appear notable to others, maybe the Vortex Theatre Company would be a better page name with this production part of the page. Legacypac (talk) 02:13, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For now, it is included in Haunted attraction (simulated). I'm going to take a look at it and see if it's worth saving. Oddjob84 (talk) 20:00, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It appears the Vortex Theatre Company has shut down, without a trace. No evidence their Haunted House ran beyond 2010. Oddjob84 (talk) 21:50, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Last mention of the Vortex Theater Company was in 2012. The building is now vacant and the website domain is available. Oh, and the Facebook page is blank. Best I can determine is that they lasted about 5 years, I take that back: they lasted about 30 years, but they did good while they lasted.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 04:25, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
After consideration, I'm going to move this to Vortex Theater Company and work it up. It may take a while, but we'll see what goes.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 22:18, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm having a tough time sourcing this. The list of awards are all nominations not wins. I can't find the quote from the horror mag but found a show in LA claiming the exact unique phrase as a review. Legacypac (talk) 04:20, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Moved from Legacypac talk page

[edit]

@Legacypac: I see you reverted [1] the speedy deletion on the redirect for the subject. Perhaps I did things in reverse order? I moved the page to Vortex Theater Company after I blanked the redirect. What do I do now?  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 02:57, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You should not be removing move redirects. They are required for attribution. I reversed both your edits (blanking and CSD). I don't think clearing out all the haunted house info was correct either and I've restored it. I'm looking at the appropriate article name issue now. What the page really needs is references to establish notability. Legacypac (talk) 03:05, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you suggested the name change on the talk page. I was going to make mention of the fact that they ran the NYC Halloween Haunted House for two years, but I thought that perhaps they would be more notable for other productions they ran.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 03:21, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
that was last year and I've looked at thousands of pages since. Feel free to help improve the page. It needs refs and some rewriting. Legacypac (talk) 03:26, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I get that and I understand. I wasn't accusing, I was simply pointing it out. I'm not that bold. I will be doing work on it when I can. What about that redirect? Should I change it to point to the new location? The only link it had was the stale pages registry.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 03:56, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just leave the redirect alone. It's required for attribution (shows who wrote what) Legacypac (talk) 04:04, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 04:13, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Google Maps reports that the theater the company had used is permanently closed. Nebulous sources indicate it closed in 2012. No current showings scheduled, and the main website domain is for sale.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 03:12, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I created a redirect from the building name and was able to wikilink to that. Legacypac (talk) 03:30, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find any sources to that link directly to the theater. There were very few plays by the theater company that actually won an award and not just nominated. The Halloween event only ran for two years. I don't know what else to do.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 21:13, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The page is vastly improved and pretty well ref'd. Move on. There are a number of pages here that could use your talents. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:AfC_submissions_declined_as_needing_footnotes ssuming they are notable topics. Legacypac (talk) 00:33, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Geez, the list is almost all bios! The first one I picked was a PR piece. You really know how to hurt a guy.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 04:04, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
