Fair use rationale for Image:Wmdn-logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:Wmdn-logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WGBC =/= WMDN

[edit]

It seems like there is a lot of superfluous information in the first paragraph that is not important to the gist of the article. In my view "...which maintains a local marketing agreement (LMA) with Coastal Television Broadcasting Company LLC, owner of dual Fox/NBC affiliate WGBC (channel 30), for the provision of certain services." could stand to be removed.

Also the following sentences could be condensed/rewritten for only the information related to WMDN and cutout WGBC.

Relatively new to this, so proposing this here to everyone. Marchofcells (talk) 20:34, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, welcome to Wikipedia. Second, it you want help regarding TV station articles, just ask my good friend @Sammi Brie:. She's an expert in this field and has been on Wikipedia for years! Mvcg66b3r (talk) 21:02, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Marchofcells! It is kind of impossible to write about much of WMDN's history post-1995 without WGBC. Because the stations are under common management, it belongs in the lead paragraph. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 21:07, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for wasting your time Marchofcells (talk) 22:33, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No @Marchofcells, it's OK. TV stations like this have quite complicated management arrangements to satisfy FCC regulations, even when the end result is really transparent to the user. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 23:49, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
