Should article prioritize a 17 county definition of WNY?
[edit]The use of WNY to describe a 17 county area seems highly unusual to me as a longtime WNYer. While I’m not opposed to mentioning it if it is one way WNY is or has been used, I wonder if it should be the main definition used throughout the article and the frame through which every other section of the article is written. It seems especially strange to me that the main reference provided for such a definition is an obscure travel website. Longtime WNYer (talk) 12:46, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
- Typically I've viewed Western New York as the counties of both the Buffalo and Rochester Combined Statistical Areas (CSA).G. Capo (talk) 21:52, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with you that it's problematic to pick just one definition to use throughout the article, especially one from a single non-official source. Powers T 21:06, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
