Sorry. I thinkt that Wife Carring isn't dog word for this sport. What you think about "Carrying the Hag" bicause the lady isn't the wife but the hag...84.230.192.56 08:36, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Wife Carrying seems to be the english name for the sport, not a translation. --Easyas12c 08:27, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Are there any documented cases of the roles being reversed, i.e. the wife carrying the husband? I'm serious it would be of interest to me. Blaze33541 03:41, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Of course not, that would be ridiculous. --194.98.58.121 (talk) 11:57, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

In the rules at Sunday River the wife carrying the husband is allowed. http://www.sundayriver.com/Events/Main/Summer/Wife_Carrying_Championship.html scroll down for a pick of a wife carrying a husband —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.246.5.39 (talk) 02:35, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Is there any evidence for the stated history of the "sport"? It sounds to me more likely that it was invented in the 1970's or 80's as an "ancient" sport.203.184.41.226 (talk) 08:12, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
