MBE[edit]

"..because of his role in the Second World War he was made an MBE in 1945." Uh? Not all manual labourers were made MBE, I assure you. What was his real qualification for the gong?? Harfarhs (talk) 23:22, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was actually for military service, detailed in his sketches in Who Was Who and Kelly's Handbook. I am about to add information from these sources into the account of his early life, which will engulf the scanter information sourced from his Times obituary. The MBE was awarded in 1946 (not 1945), the year he demobilized as Major on General Staff.Cloptonson (talk) 18:35, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Leading Healey astray?[edit]

'Denis Healey... asserts that Fienburgh's "good looks and big brown eyes often led him astray". This statement sounds rather ambiguous. Could someone confirm what Healey meant? Valetude (talk) 13:38, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
