Neutrality[edit]

This article, in its form as of this writing, is clearly written in a tone that denigrates the WCA. Specific examples:

  • Use of quotations marks to question the validity of a claim:
    The WCA claims "recognition" by the United Nations.
  • Mission statement claiming their raison d'etre is one of limitation. This is only a limitation if one does not agree with this definition of Chiropractic.

The entire point of the article appears to be to denigrate the organization. While all of the facts are referenced with citations, it is not clear that a balanced picture is painted. (One can pick citations to support one's own point of view while witholding citations to the contrary.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:24, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, this organization was created exactly to create opposition to the mainstream of the profession. The UN recognition, is only from that of a public information bureau, and they are looking into the maintenance of their relationship with this group. If anyone can post anything positive, please feel free.Д-рСДжП,ДС 21:08, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ADDITIONAL NOTE: Much of the anti-WCA rhetoric found on the web is authored by one over-zealous opponent who has gone so far as to maintain an entire website devoted to attacking the WCA, its leaders, and its supporters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BarbaraBigham (talkcontribs) 19:21, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT THE ARTICLE DOES NOT MENTION:

Many WCA members served on important health-related government committees and panels, including:

· Veronica Gutierrez, DC, the only chiropractor to serve on the White House Special Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine;

· Christopher Kent, DC, chairman of the NGO (Non‑Governmental Organization) Health Committee, affiliated with the United Nations;

· Kristina M. Collins, DC, one of six members appointed by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine to its National Advisory Council on Complementary and Alternative Medicine;

· Leona Fischer, DC, served on the Veterans Affairs Chiropractic Advisory Committee and was one of only two members to vote against a medical gatekeeper system;

· Terry A. Rondberg, DC, member of the Department of Defense Chiropractic Advisory Committee.

Note: the article is also inaccurate. Dr. Terry Rondberg is NOT the current president and has not been for quite some time. He is the founder and CEO. 71.237.156.172 (talk) 08:18, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality issues[edit]

One side created a negative article. The other side (the organization's own Director of Communication, who has been warned about the conflict of interest) completely rewrites the article as overly positive (one might say promotional). I have tried to find the middle ground, citing the group's own website to reference issues about their positions and leadership. Clearly, the chiropractic world is deeply divided about whom they choose to represent them. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:35, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article whitewashed / COI[edit]

This article was cleansed of all negative information, despite that all such statements were properly referenced and documented facts. Once cannot remove everything one doesn't like in order to create an advertisement for the organization. Thus I replaced the controversy, lobbying and recognitions sections which were recently removed without comment. The article was assuredly NOT written by the individual with a dedicated website for that purpose as alleged by BarbaraBigham. Moreover, there is a serious COI WP:NOPAY issue here, as BarbaraBigham as she writes in her revision, is their own Director of Communications. Д-рСДжП,ДС 00:02, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dr SJP -- please do not bring your own personal animosity against this group to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a battleground, and it is not a place for you to vent your dissatisfaction with this group. I have removed the material you added with the following rationales:
  1. Lobbying: The OpenSecrets.org page to which you linked was for an entirely different company. (Actually, I'd be rather surprised if an advocacy group such as this wasn't a registered lobbyist, but that fact isn't verified by the link.)
  2. Recognition: The material you added about the UN DPI vs the UN at large is largely your own original research. Rather than add tarnish, better to just omit any nonverifiable facts altogether.
  3. Controversy: The stoprondberg site is a dead link, and was probably just one man's rant to begin with. The controversy over Rondberg's Arizona legal issues involves Rondberg as an individual, not the WCA as an organization.

Notability??[edit]

Forget COI etc issues. Where are the reliable sources that demonstrate that this subject is notable per WP:CORP? – ukexpat (talk) 20:24, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
