Project Natal
A section should be added to the Hardware section titled "Project Natal". Ample information is available now on the matter. It should like to Project Natal which could use some cleaning-up. 12.107.188.5 (talk) 04:51, 2 June 2009 (UTC) Steve ballmer actually said that it would work with all previous xbox's, and would not be released with a new one. please update the article.
30.2 million shipped
According to teamxbox.com microsoft has shipped 30.2 million units since the 2005 launch, so shouldnt the number sold be changed?

Pictures Need to be Updated
I was looking over this page and I noticed that some of the pictures were from the the older versions of the Xbox 360 Software. Can we get some new, recent pictures to replace the old ones please? I know that the New Xbox Experience is coming out soon, so if you guys want to wait to update the pictures that fine. - E102_Gamma 24.125.18.16 (talk) 01:18, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Edit: I check and look at the pictures and I found that only one needs to be updated, in which its the Xbox Live Arcade Picture. If anyone can put up a latest version of the Arcade Screen, that would be great. (10/15/08)
- I have found suitable replacements for each picture for when the update comes out.

RobTheGob (talk) 19:33, 25 December 2008 (UTC) The image caption "An 60gb Xbox 360 box" is not correct - this should be changed to "A 60gb Xbox 360 box". There is also a mismatch of the wording of the captions for the Xbox 360 Elite - it should be changed to "An Xbox 360 Elite" to match the other images (or the other captions should be changed to remove the A/An to match this one).

Microsoft Knew About Xbox 360 Damaging Discs
Does someone who has access want to add alittle tid bit about how microsoft released the console knowing that if you so much as bump it while it is accessing a disc, the xbox will destroy the disc? Apparently they had 3 fixes on offer, but they elected to go with the cheaper option of affixing a sticker to the back page of the instruction manual explaining that any broken disc is the customers fault.

Media Remote in Oceania
I live in Australia, and My mates who bought the 360 Pro all received remotes instead of a headset, like in the article, however I bought a Pro yesterday (25.4.08) and received a headset like in other regions. It was a new shipment and is the PAL version, AND it says it on the box. I think this means that the package has changed, so I will remove the detail in the chart until proven otherwise.--Peeto87 (talk) 05:09, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Adding Rumored Hardware Stuff
Despite it being pretty well reported we can't put un-official rumor information in the article until it becomes official.
That means the Jasper, Opus and Vahalla Motherboard designs, the Newton Motion sensative controller, the 60 Gig hard drive, and the external Blu-Ray drive (if they get a blu-ray drive it is NOT going to be internal) --8bitJake (talk) 19:52, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

First to reach 10 million in sales
The claim made by Microsoft that the 360 is the first to reach sales of 10 Million in the US is not true. In Nintendo's consolidated financial statements for the fiscal years ending March '07 and March '08, the total number of Wiis sold in "The Americas" is 10,610,000 Carpeamentum (talk) 13:48, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- The US is not the same as "The Americas". Check a map, I'm not even kidding, there is much more than the US in North and South America. Enjoy your new-found knowledge. 24.72.113.212 (talk) 20:01, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Microsoft Xbox 360 original failure rate as high as 68% [2] Source author [3] by schnide 14:45GMT, 08/09/08 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Schnide (talk • contribs) 13:48, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- From your link: "The factory defect rate for Xbox 360 consoles in August 2005 - four months prior to its US launch - was as high as 68 per cent."
- Including that number would only serve to confuse the article -- the intent here is clearly to put Negative-POV on the article.
- Why is the PRE-RELEASE FACTORY DEFECT rate relevant? Should we also include the lunch menu from the factory?
- The pre-release error rate is significant because it shows how much trouble Microsoft had to get its production line to a state that it could think about using it to make a product for real customers, remember, we are not talking about prototypes anymore at this stage, its normal that a first (or even a third) production run isn't close to the 3% or so of a normal error rate of a production run of a product of this complexity, but a 68 percent (that is two thirds of the test run) is abnormally low, even for a product this complex. Remember that four months to full launch is a very short time, as it takes at least those 4 months to produce all the products, and ship them to the dealers. Its also not mentioned in the brief compression in this article, it is only mentioned in the main article, and then only in the context as I described it here. Discussion on Xbox 360 modding
This page makes no mention of the xbox 360 modding scene as far as I can tell. It should explain what is required (flashing the DVD drive's firmware), how this differs from the original Xbox and what Microsoft has done to try to prevent this. --Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 03:15, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

- Strongly disagree; the xbox 360 modding scene and its differences from the cultures around other platforms is of great interest from a technology policy perspective. The XBox 360 has just about the most expensive and complicated DRM to be found on any platform, and its consequences are of significant intrinsic interest. Such discussion need not be a howto. -- pde (talk) 20:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

- I agree. As with the Playstation 3 section, and the Wii section, this page or the sales page should include the production costs of the XBOX360 compared to the sales costs. new advert coming?
i was recently asked to participate in a paid survey in which i was shown clips of various existing adverts such as a red bull one and for some reason a virtual tour of a supermarket, and then an advert that was obviously still in planning stages as it was just a few still images with a voiceover. but in the advert, it had a little 2.4 family sitting round on the sofa while a man voiceover said something about how the entertainment they are recieving is like a "spark igniting a petrol soaked firework factory" but not showing what they're watching, then it shows a womans shocked face and then her playing guitar hero, then a kid watching bee movie, then the kid and dad playing monopoly on a tv and then it shows that little xbox 360 logo and sound everyone knows. the advert implied that xbox is shifting their focus onto family entertainment in a similar vain to the wii and focusing more on everything else it can do as well as playing games. a new marketing scheme. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.210.131.30 (talk) 22:48, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Sales Data
Cumulative sales from the system's launch until June 30, 2007 were predicted to reach 12 million units, down from 13 to 15 million units estimated earlier. Being released one year ahead of its competitors, the Xbox 360 was the market leader throughout the first half of 2007. However on September 12, 2007, it was reported by the Financial Times that the Xbox 360 had been surpassed by the Wii in terms of worldwide console sales.[104] On October 4, 2007, soon after the launch of Halo 3, Microsoft stated that Xbox 360 sales had more than doubled compared to the previous average.[105]
Based on figures from October 19, 2007, the Xbox 360 outsold the Wii for the month of September in North America, helped in part by the spike in sales seen after the launch of Halo 3, which sold 3.3 million copies in the United States in a 12-day period.[106] The Xbox had sales of 528,000 units for September, while the Wii had sales of 501,000 units.[107]
Is it really that much of interest that the xbox had one month where it sales was higher than wii? At all other month the wii sales are mostly three times the xbox360 sales. At the moment, the week after the xbox360 price cute, the xbox sales doubled (101.000 Xbox to 159.000 Wii sold last week http://vgchartz.com/aweekly.php) like they did in europe after the price cut, but only for a week. I think the same will happen in the US. Even the in the US unloved PS3 has month with sales higher than the xbox360.
Hey, igit, it's Xbox 360, not xbox360. Try not to sound like a Sony and Nintendo-fanboy on an 'independant' site. Schmuck. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.134.108.9 (talk) 23:15, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

SImpsons special edition was not a 10 console batch.
Please someone fix the article. It says that 10 Simpsons Movie themed Xbox consoles were produced, citing a Fox source. This information is false, because here in Chile there was a television contest which gave out a brand new Simpsons Movie Xbox. I suppose that the situation is similar for other countries with official Xbox presence.

Falcon Chipset
Why do we even have this? i think it fairly pointless because all new consoles have the falcon chipset and the core has been retired, and any console that has to be refurbished by microsoft is upgraded, so i recommend getting rid of that, i would do it myself but i don't want to mess up the chart. I think we should keep it given Microsoft's Reputation for making many versions of products (XP and Vista anyone?). Plus, the price has shift enough over the range of the products to justify the keeping of it in there, at least in the minimalistic form that it is in now.Gyrferret (talk) 20:17, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Retail configurations
The text here is unclear. Specifically, the first sentence refers to three variants "Arcade" , "Pro" and "Elite" but the final sentence in the paragraph refers to "Xbox 360 Premium". Should be changed to be consistent.
Secondly reference to "Holiday 2008" is an ambiguous americanism. It would be clearer and more internationally appropriate to refer to "Christmas retail period in 2008" or omit altogether.
I don't appear to be able to edit this page or I would have corrected the first point. The second point I imagine would be subject to some debate so I'd leave that here regardless. 121.209.134.1 (talk) 15:29, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
ATi Xenos??
Seems it's actually a Microsoft design, and ATI had little to do with it, according to a very credible Taiwanese newspaper. [5] Considering the specs for the both the PS3 and 360 are closed, everything about them is speculation, it's entirely possible ATI had little to do with design or production of the 360's GPU. References to Ati should be removed, unless someone has concrete evidence to show ATI designed and produced it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.174.171.21 (talk) 15:31, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Arcade section in Retail configurations section
Someone edited the article so it sounds like all Arcade units have "an internal 256 MB memory chip" when the fact is that they just introduced that model, and most of the arcade 360's in fact so far have come with a 256 MB memory card. Someone who can actually edit the article should at least make a note that they came with cards originally.76.226.235.22 (talk) 03:42, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
name of consoles
On the box thingy that has all the accessory information, I think that the "Xbox 360" Should be called, the "Pro". People who don't have a clue about Xbox, might get confused. For example: Someone looks at the names. They see the Elite. Then, they see the 360. They could think, that the elite, is it's own console. I think the main article should at least mention Encryption on the Xbox360, given its significance to the future freedom of computing in general, especially the manner in which its done on the Xbox360 (eFuses and hypervisors), for example, we may now live in a world where you can only publish code that is approved by the device manufactures, or gatekeepers (for example apple and microsoft). Halo3 is not the best selling 360 game
Rockstar's GTA IV should be best selling 360 game, according to Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Third Quarter Fiscal 2008 Financial Results. [8]

A Pro is a Pro is a Pro
Just because Microsoft packages the Pro as the "Xbox 360 (subheading)Go Pro(/sub)" doesn't change the fact that it is the "Pro" model of the Xbox 360. We do not pander to marketing techniques. If we start calling it simply "the Xbox 360" in the text, we may confuse the reader. –xeno (talk) 06:31, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
You do realise that at no point has it ever been officially called the pro model... Same thing as the premium. Was just a marketing technique so retailers could differentiate between the various models. --Deathtrap3000 (talk) 15:57, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- really? (cross-posted from your talk page)-> Many times companies will brand their products a certain way for marketing effects, such as packaging the "Xbox 360 Pro system" (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360prosystem/ - note the pro in the URL) as simply "the Xbox 360". While this is all well and good, our goal is clarity and we should not allow their branding to trickle down into a confusing encyclopedia article. –xeno (talk) 16:05, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Thats funny. You say "our goal is clarity and we should not allow their branding to trickle down into a confusing encyclopedia article", but thats exactly what you are doing. The fact that 'pro' and 'premium' came about to make it clearer to the consumer which model they were buying should be made clear in the article. Its still not mentioned on the page, just in the url. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deathtrap3000 (talk • contribs) 11:14, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- My concern is that in the paragraph about the "Pro" model, we start using phrases like The Xbox 360 also includes a detachable 60 GB Hard Disk Drive which can be misleading, as it is only the Pro model which includes this. I have solicited further opinion from WT:VG. –xeno (talk) 16:22, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- Microsoft refers to the Xbox 360 60GB model as "Xbox 360", "Pro" doesn't have anything to do with the actual name. Even if it's mentioned in the address, it's still not officially referred to as the Pro. So I agree with Deathtrap3000, it should be called the "default Xbox 360", "Xbox 360 60GB", or something generic along those lines.--ZXCVBNM (TALK) 00:52, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

O really don't see why you can't simply say "Most versions of the Xbox 360 includes a detachable hard disk drive. The actual size varies from X to Y depending upon the model. There is also one version without a hard disk drive." It's completely neutral and factual.じんない 03:11, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Gallery vs. stacked images
On my resolution (1600x1050), when the xbox images are stacked on the left side, they bleed into the next section, which results in pushing the chart (but not the section header) down leaving a fair amount of white space. With the gallery, this white space is partially filled in and the images do not bleed into the next section.

Should Ballmer's comment about a "new Xbox" really be stated as fact in the article? The quote was not elaborated on in any way, and it is unclear whether he was talking about a legitimate new Xbox, Natal, or just a new SKU with Natal bundled in. Shouldn't the statement in the article be reworded somehow? sdornan (talk) 14:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Whither XBox Pro?
According to the Microsoft Web Site the middle configuration is no longer "XBox 360 Pro" but just "XBox 360". Important to know whether this name change represents a product revision or is just rebranding. And of course the comparison table needs to be updated. Isaac R (talk) 17:30, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3
Call of Duty has the highest amount of sales for the Xbox 360, but is it considered 'topgame'as shown in the table to the right of the Xbox 360 Main page. Is it only based on exclusives? —Preceding unsigned comment added by InbredScorpion (talk • contribs) 10:27, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Xbox 3?
The Xbox 360 is approaching its fourth anniversary. It was released on the fourth anniversary of the original Xbox. Any possibility of a third generation Xbox being released this year? Cousert (talk)
- No, the 360 is going to have a 10 year lifespan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.113.253 (talk) 01:04, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
