To LevTechMedia - Please read WP:EL before adding external links to a wikipedia article. If there was an article about LevTechMedia, it would be ok to have a link there to the website. To add such a link in a different article is not according to policy. Joe407 (talk) 21:11, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update. Just to clarify, adding links to a commercial website is a no-no (please read external link policy). Also a link to the Yeshiva website is not that way to do things. Joe407 (talk) 09:48, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeshiva curriculum

[edit]

Howdy, Please take a look at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Judaism#Yeshiva.27s and the question raised there. For now I've not touched the curriculum section in this article. I have made a few other edits. Joe407 (talk) 21:56, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment Comments

[edit]

These have been moved here from a subpage as part of a cleanup process. See Wikipedia:Discontinuation of comments subpages.

I have assessed this article as Start-class and identified the following areas for improvement:

  • The article needs to be written in an enyclopedic tone
  • The article needs references
  • The article is not comprehensive and needs expansion

Corrections

[edit]
  • I corrected the name of the donor -- it is Garson Gruhin, not Garrison (I was a member of the Carteret JCC and knew him personally). But I googled the name just to be certain, and by pure coincidence unfortunately learned that he just passed away on June 15, 2010 (may he rest in peace), so I deleted the note saying that he still lives in Carteret.

  • It was factually incorrect to phrase it as "there was only 1 elderly Jewish couple remaining in Carteret in 2005" -- if nothing else, my own parents were still there, and I don't doubt there were various other members of the former JCC. So I reworded it to just say that there weren't enough people to sustain a synagogue. I also simplified the wording -- it really wasn't relevant that there was a son who was a lawyer and that he lived in DC -- and replaced opinion ("unlikely place") with objective fact (suburban NJ).
  • I recognize that sefer torah!

  • As an employee at YGOC for the past many years, I verified and confirm the information in this article is accurate as of this date. It's very difficult to reference the information, since many of the Orthodox Jewish newspapers aren't available online. I'm also not a seasoned Wikipedia editor, so I apologize if I didn't follow the correct methods. Ybeeds (talk) 16:06, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Ybeeds, you did an excellent job. Wikipedia does not require that sources be online, just that they are reliable. Feel free to add information from any print sources that you have, taking care not to copy the wording directly. Best, Yoninah (talk) 19:07, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
