Requested indefinite semi-protection for this page, due to the repeated periodic deletion of text describing the tragic murder/suicide of Komunyakaa's romantic partner Reetika Vazirani and their child Jehan in 2003. This has been removed at least four times - see edits on 01/01/2011, 06/08/2011, 09/27/2011 and 04/19/12. Each time it was deleted by unidentified IP address users, and then subsequently reinstated by registered editors. Recommend protection to avoid this in the future. I have reverted a number of edits made recently to reinstate the subject's birth year as 1947. As there is a source cited for the earlier birth date of 1941, and mention is made in the article of Komunyakaa's own claim to be younger, it seems more accurate to leave this as shown. If there is better-sourced evidence to displace this, let's include it and edit as appropriate. Shorn again (talk) 17:07, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates and tables for short stories, poems and/or book reviews. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. Feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 07:59, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
