Undue Weight in Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Paragraphs

[edit]

Devoting two paragraphs to what is certainly the most historically significant event that is associated with the Zenith Plateau is quite reasonable and fails miserably to constitute “undue weight.” In addition, two paragraphs devoted to the Zenith Plateau being the suspected crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is neither unreasonable nor “undue weight” given that the vast majority of the 17,145 visits to the Zenith Plateau article between April 4, 2014 and April 25, 2014 are very likely people looking for specific information about how the Zenith Plateau relates to the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that is found in the paragraphs. Finally, there is a complete lack of any other historically or notable event associated with the Zenith Plateau that can be used create a so-called “more balanced presentation.” Given that all of the information in the two paragraphs is pertinent to a historically and notable significant event that people are looking for and there is a lack of any other historically and notable significant events to discuss, there is a complete lack “undue weight” in the the “Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.” section. Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 is not the most historically significant event associated with this geologic feature. It's just news NOW. So that's what you're writing about. -WanderingLost (talk) 19:07, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has reached historical proportions regardless of whether it is found there or not. It certainly has passed being just news. If it is not a historically significant event, I would certainly challenge you to find any more significant event associated with it. In addition, that there were 17,145 visits to the Zenith Plateau article between April 4, 2014 and April 25, 2014 according to Wikipedia article traffic statistics, likely because of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, utterly refutes your claim that having only two paragraphs about it is "undue weight". I think this is pretty obvious. WanderingLost, you only have a handful of edits so perhaps you don't understand our policies and guidelines. This seems to be the only historical event associated with the Zenith Plateau. It is certainly an important one. Someday there may be other important events associated with it and we can add them then. Meanwhile I'm removing the template as inappropriate. Dougweller (talk) 05:03, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is there something missing from this subject thread? The header suggests there was an initial adverse comment, answered by what is now the lead, but I can't see anything in the log... Regards, Lynbarn (talk) 16:43, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's a response to the editor who placed an 'undue' template on that section. Dougweller (talk) 15:52, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
