Tampines Bus Interchange (Chinese: 淡滨尼巴士转换站) is a bus interchange serving Tampines in Singapore. It is an open-air building located in the town centre near the Tampines MRT Station, with the allocated Block 512. There are 26 bus services operating from the bus interchange (new service 46 between Upper East Coast and Tampines), making it the 4th busiest bus interchange in Singapore.

History

Prior to the opening of the interchange in 1987, buses at Tampines were served at Tampines Bus Terminal in Tampines Avenue 5 which was started in 1983. The bus interchange was refurbished in 2008 to make it wheelchair-accessible and allow the introduction of wheelchair accessible bus services. All of the routes will come under Tampines GCM, with the exception of Bishan-Toa Payoh (Service 8), Loyang (Service 3), Choa Chu Kang-Bukit Panjang (Service 67) and Sembawang-Yishun (Service 969).

Tampines Interchange Extension

An extension due for completion by the 4th quarter of 2016 in the vicinity, will replace all the end-on berths at Tampines Bus Interchange and provide additional capacity to the interchange.[1][2]

Redevelopment

Redevelopment for Tampines Bus Interchange will only start after the completion of the Downtown Line stage 3 in 2017.[3]
