Alfred Tippinge
- ... that in 1854 Grenadier Guard Alfred Tippinge was badly wounded at the Battle of Inkerman and left for dead for a day before being rescued (pictured)? Hampshire Advertiser, 29 May 1935: "Colonel Tippinge of the Grenadier Guards who fought at Alma and Inkerman and was left for dead on the field in Crimea for twenty-four hours". and Turtle Bunbury: "Lt.-Col. Alfred Tippinge (1817-1898), Grenadier Guards, a veteran of the Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman (where ’severely wounded’)".

Article is new enough, long enough, and good enough. QPQ is satisfied. Image is in in the article and is appropriately small in the DYK.
What do you think of this mod of ALT1? I think it gives it more umph (I like the first hook too, but it seems like Tippinge's biggest contribution is to history)
