Corruption in Pakistan

[edit]

5x expanded by Arunreginald (talk). Self nominated at 04:23, 27 December 2013 (UTC).

  • Serious problems with making such an accusation on the Main page of Wikipedia. It's not a neutral statement. And the source is almost four years old - and graphs, at that. — Maile (talk) 13:20, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
  • How about attributing that statement? Alternatively I do prefer more catchy fact, something like/similar to "... that Pakistan lost more than Rs 8.5 trillion (US$ 94 billion) in corruption, tax evasion and bad governance in the PPP-led coalition government from 2008 to 2013?" -- SMS Talk 13:43, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
  • I honestly doubt that there would be any problem with the statement. In my opinion, it is less an accusation and more a "fact". There are countless references available on the internet to point to this being 100% accurate. By the way, I have added a July 2013 reference for the same. I didn't go for a "catchy" hook because they consume way too much space on the main page. Thanks. Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 13:54, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
  • This is also a 2010 article that has not been 5X expanded. Pre-expansion size was 7760 characters. 7760 x 5 = 38800 Current size is only 17950 characters (0 words) "readable prose size" — Maile (talk) 13:49, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Ah, never mind. But I would surely love to know how you come across those stats for character count. Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 14:01, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
  • In the upper right hand corner of this template is the DYK Toolbox and the first item is DYK Check. The link takes you to a page that tells you how to set DYK Check up in your own sidebar Tools section. Once you have it, you can click on that tool for any article and find it's DYK eligibility stats. It lists the date of creation and who created it, whether or not an article has been 5X expanded, and provides a count of characters of readable prose. . — Maile (talk) 14:13, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Next time, I'd make sure I do these checks before submitting any nominations. Cheers. Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 15:03, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
